We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day for an Engagement Session at The Peaks! Meagan and James were so much fun to photograph… and they are an absolutely stunning couple. I couldn’t be happier with the images from our session! Here are someĀ of my favorites:

Celebrating the marriage of Kristin and Cory was a great start to Wedding Season. I had such niceĀ time sharing this special day with these two and their friends and family. They are completely in love and they just radiate as a couple! Here are a few images from their wedding!

Yesterday, I had the privilege of shooting Kristin and Cory’s Wedding… which was amazing! This also means I can finally post some pictures of our Bridal Portrait Session at Smith Mountain Lake. Kristin was a stunning bride and I can’t wait to share images from their wedding soon too! Here are a few of my faves!

Amelia&Micah Engagement Session {Lynchburg, VA-Wedding Photographer}

9 Apr

As a photographer, this entire engagement session sends chills of excitement down my back! It is always exciting to incorporate photography props into a session, but it brings about a whole new dimension when the props are actually relevant to the couple. Micah is a pilot and Amelia is a musician with a passion for history and historical reenactments (she has actually participated in reenactments) which is so neat. When Amelia and I sat down to plan and discuss her Engagement Session, we both began visualizing this special session that would incorporate their interests and personalities, and of course, their love and passion for each other. We were very fortunate to have some great people pitch in and help make this session a reality. I would write it all the thank you’s myself; however, Amelia wrote it better herself when she said the following:

“I just wanted to thank everyone who was involved in making Micah & my engagement shoot become reality!Ā Micah LaVanchy for your love & support for my big ideas and crazy dreams and for your passion and pursuit of aviation, I will always support you wholeheartedly, Amy Costa for the use of you & your husbandā€™s WWII outfits and for your patient hand in working with my hair and for being attentive to any other details of the afternoon, youā€™re the best! And thanks to my friend Jessica Bullock for letting me raid her wardrobe for a better selection of heels. Girlfriends with the same shoe size are quite a blessing! And to General Young for the use ofĀ his WWII biplane, it was larger than life and my only other wish is to fly in it. And last but not least…Jane Morice, for capturing my vision and for your wonderful photography skillsā€¦you inspire me, even if you do shoot with Nikon. =) And to an awesome God who provided the most beautiful day & lighting imaginable. I have been dreaming about this shoot even before becoming engaged, so thank you all!!”

These images truly capture Amelia and Micah’s personalities and love for each other. I cannot wait to photograph their wedding this fall. I tried to narrow down my very favorites… it was sooo hard… and here they are. Enjoy!

2011 Women’s Show

24 Mar

A couple of weeks ago, I participated in The Women’s Show. This show was held inside Liberty University’s Tolsma Indoor Track and was hosted by Kim Jennings of Lynchburg Shows. There were over 170 vendors present and it was an all around successful show.Ā It was so nice meeting so many super nice ladies (and a fair share of men came through as well, who were also very nice). As the show was coming to an end, my husband came by with my little girl, Bradley, and we snapped a few images of our display.

Megan & Sam Engagement Session {Lynchburg, VA-Wedding Photographer}

22 Feb

This wasĀ one amazing Engagement Session. Two great people: Sam & Megan, cupcakes!!!, a gorgeous sunny day, and a long walk filled with fun conversation, with my camera(s) in hand… it just doesn’t get much better. Please take a look at our adventurous Engagement Session- a stroll through our beautiful, historic downtown, Lynchburg.

What a SWEET couple!

After the amazing cupcakesĀ from the one and onlyĀ Taste Selects Confectionery, we took a stroll down main street! We stopped along the way at various locations; including The Galleria and Market at Main. It was a windy, but absolutely beautiful day. I could have been very content hanging out and snapping pictures of this adorable and very sweet couple all day!

This wedding was an outstanding journey from start to finish. Ashley and Matt are an extremely beautiful couple on the inside and out. I had the privilege of photographing their Engagements, Bridals, and Wedding! This couple was so adventurous! They didn’t hesitate when I “hinted around” that ending our Engagement Session in the fountain would make incredible pictures! And then during our bridal session, Ashley had no problem riding a bicycle in her wedding gown! At the wedding, Ashley and all of her bridesmaids choreographed a surprise dance for Matt! Working with this couple was one amazing adventure after the next! I am so glad that I had the opportunity to meet and spend so much time with this wonderful couple. Congratulations on your recent marriage! I wish you both many, many years of amazing adventures together!

Ashley was so much fun to photograph! She has such a great personality and is absolutely beautiful on the inside and out. I loved how adventurous she was throughout each photo session. During Ashley’s engagement session, her and (now husband) Matt, were willing to get in a fountain… which was not only fun, but made for some incredible engagement pictures. Then, during her bridal session, she hopped on a cute pink and green bicycle in her WEDDING GOWN! I loved working with Ashley! Another reason I loved this bridal session, was the beautiful clouds that were present. It was seriously on the verge of a torrential downpour throughout our session… and the clouds could not have been more beautiful with the sun peeking through every so often. I can’t wait to share photos from Matt and Ashley’s wedding soon… as you can imagine with these two, it was AMAZINGLY fun and extremely special.

Congratulations Jen and Joseph! This was a very special wedding to photograph for so many reasons! One of the best parts was that I’ve had the honor of knowing the groom (and all his groomsmen) for many, many, many, many years!!! The groom and his gang just happened to be in my sister’s class throughout middle and high school… so we grew up together! It was so much fun seeing all of them together again… it felt like the old days! Another amazing part of this wedding was the beautiful bride, Jen. She glowed the entire day! Joseph and Jen make such a stunning couple! Thank you for allowing me to share this amazing day! I wish you both the best!!! Enjoy your preview… I could have posted pictures all day long from this wedding… but for now, here is a preview of their beautiful Wedding day!

middle and high school buddies... enough said! :)
